Make an upgrade offer
Find answers to all your OneUp questions.
It means you can upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy or from Premium Economy to Business Premier. If you are in Economy you can also submit an offer to experience Economy Skycouch if you do not wish to upgrade cabin class.
If your offer is accepted prior to check in and you have received a OneUp upgrade, you will receive the benefits applicable to the OneUp upgraded service class of travel specified on your upgraded ticket.
If your offer is accepted after you have checked into your flight or at the airport, you will receive all on board benefits applicable to the OneUp upgraded service class of travel.
How can I make an offer for Economy Skycouch?
If you have a booking of one or two people, you are now able to make an offer to experience Economy Skycouch.
To do this, you can make an offer for a Premium Economy upgrade. Once submitted, you will have the option to make an offer for Economy Skycouch. In the event there is no availability to fufill your upgrade to Premium Economy, we will consider your offer for Economy Skycouch.
Alternatively, if you do not want to make an offer for Premium Economy, you can submit an offer to experience Economy Skycouch by selecting "Skycouch" as the Upgrade Type when submitting your OneUp.
Please note that bookings of two people are submitting to occupy the skycouch together. Bookings with one passenger will be making an offer to have the whole skycouch allocated to themselves.
For these flights you'll need to choose one sector for each offer you make. For example, on an Auckland to London flight you can make an offer for Auckland to Los Angeles or Los Angeles to London. If you want to make two offers, one for each sector, you can.
To recognise your status, we'll upweight your OneUp offer by the following amount:
- Elite - 50%
- Gold - 30%
- Silver - 10%
You may not combine Recognition Upgrades or Elite Airpoints Dollar Upgrades with a OneUp Upgrade to move multiple cabin classes for any single sector of your flight.
- Online: Find your confirmed flight and go to 'Manage booking'
- Travel agent: If you booked your flight through a New Zealand or Australia based agent
- Call centre: Call the Air New Zealand call centre
- Airpoints Dollars™: If you're paying with Airpoints Dollars, any applicable taxes, levies or surcharges must be paid in cash. You can use a credit card or debit card for this
- Credit card or debit card: The cost of your upgrade will be converted into local area currency
When assessing your OneUp offer we consider its value, the value of other offers made for the same cabin class, your Airpoints status, the number of seats available in the higher cabin class and the number of passengers in your booking. If your offer is unsuccessful, there's no cost.
If your ticket is accepted prior to check in you will be emailed with a new ticket for your upgraded cabin.
In the event availability is limited, we will notify you that your offer may not be reviewed until 8 hours prior to departure.
*If the flight is particularly full, we will review your offer 8 hours before the flight's departure. On selected flights there will be a final review at the airport up to 1 hour before departure.
Selected flights are between Auckland and Buenos Aires, Auckland and Hong Kong, Auckland and Houston, Auckland and Los Angeles, Auckland and Perth, Auckland and San Francisco, Auckland and Singapore, Auckland and Vancouver, and London and Los Angeles.
