Air New Zealand has partnerships and agreements with a number of selected airlines to provide you with even more flight options and benefits around the world.

Qualifying partner airline flights

Koru members are able to earn both Airpoints and Status Points at Air New Zealand flight rates with the qualifying partner airlines below. Travel must be on an Air New Zealand flight number.

If you're Koru Platinum or Koru Black, the Status Points you earn count as Status Points from qualifying flights. For Koru Gold, Koru Platinum, and Koru Black, eligible travel on these flights counts towards your Status Points Bonus.

Refer to each of the below partner airline pages for detail on which booking classes qualify to earn Airpoints and Status Points.

  • Cathay Pacific on flights between Auckland or Christchurch and Hong Kong
  • United on flights between Auckland and either Los Angeles or San Francisco and between Christchurch and San Francisco
  • Air China on flights between Auckland and Beijing

Code share and frequent flyer agreements

Air New Zealand has code share and frequent flyer agreements with selected airlines that enables Airpoints to be earned at partner rates however Status Points are not able to be earned on these flights. Airpoints can be redeemed on these flights check our partner airline reward chart for how many Airpoints you will need.

Koru members can also enjoy some of their benefits on some of these code share flights booked with an Air New Zealand flight number (e.g. NZ7000).

Code share and air share agreements

Air New Zealand also has code share and air share agreements with selected airlines. Airpoints can be claimed for travel on these flights when booked with an Air New Zealand flight number (e.g. NZ4010). Current potential earning rates can be viewed in the partner airline flights section of the Airpoints calculator. Status Points are not able to be earned on these flights. Lounge access is available in some circumstances, but no other Koru benefits are available on these flights.
