Status Rewards

Celebrate in-tier milestones with Status Rewards. Unlock rewards such as a Koru Platinum Banked Year and curated products and experiences.

If you currently have any Elite Banked Years, they'll become Koru Platinum Banked Years from April 2026.

Status Retain

If you're just short of retaining Koru Platinum, we'll gift you up to 50 Status Points so you can retain your tier and enjoy your benefits for another year.

Only available to use once every three years.

Status Points Bonus

As a way of recognising your loyalty and not just how far you fly, but how often, you'll earn 30 bonus Status Points every time you complete 10 qualifying journeys.

Status Points Rollover

If you earn enough Status Points to retain your tier (but not enough to reach Koru Black), any Status Points earned above 1,350 and up to 2,399 can be rolled over and counted towards retaining your status the next year.

Upgrades

Recognition Upgrades

Recognition Upgrades allow you to request a cabin class upgrade so you can enjoy a more premium flying experience, at no extra cost. You'll get two Recognition Upgrades that can be used on either Long or Short Haul, and one extra Short Haul Recognition Upgrade.

Recognition Upgrades are not guaranteed and are always subject to availability.

OneUp™ upgrade

OneUp is like an auction where you bid what you're willing to pay for an upgrade to the next cabin class, or Economy Skycouch. With Koru Platinum your offer is given an extra 50% weighting, improving your upgrade chances.

You can pay with either Airpoints or cash, and you pay the amount you offer per passenger. You will only be charged if your bid is successful.

Gifting Recognition Upgrades

With Koru Platinum, you have the privilege of gifting a Recognition Upgrade to those on your gifting register. The perfect way to share the experience with others.

Airpoints Upgrades

You may also request a cabin class upgrade using Airpoints on Air New Zealand operated and ticketed flights. There are set prices depending on the aircraft and destination.

Airpoints Upgrades are not guaranteed and are always subject to availability.

Each voucher entitles you to 24 hours of complimentary valet parking for Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch Airport.

Koru Platinum includes access to Frequent Flyer Seating, usually located towards the front of the Economy cabin.

You'll also get complimentary access to Exit Row or unsold Premium seats 48 hours before departure.

Additional Carry-on Bag

Take the stress out of packing your carry-on with an Additional Carry-on Bag.

Your carry-on can be a combined total weight of 14kg, with a maximum weight of 10kg for one bag.

Additional Checked Bag

Indulge in some extra shopping knowing you can check in an extra bag at no additional cost.

Airfare must already include a checked bag. Maximum weight 23kg.

Fast Bag

Hotel or Car Rental Upgrade Vouchers

Members with hotel or rental car upgrade vouchers received as part of their Elite membership pack have up to 12 months from date of issue to use these vouchers. However, no hotel or car rental upgrade vouchers will be issued as part of the Koru Platinum membership pack.
