Koru Club terms and conditions

1.General
1.1 The Koru Club Programme is a membership programme offered by Air New Zealand.
1.2 By applying for Koru Club membership, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, which govern membership to the Koru Club Programme.
1.3 Membership to the Koru Club Programme is not interchangeable with membership to any other programme or club.
1.4 We draw your attention to the following provisions in these Terms and Conditions:
- The Koru Club Programme Fees are non-refundable (paragraph 3.1)
- We will collect and use your personal information in accordance with our privacy statement (paragraph 19.1)
- We will send you email communications and you may update your communication preferences (paragraph 8)
- We may vary the Koru Club Benefits and Koru Club Programme Fees' from time to time (paragraph 16.1)
- In certain circumstances we may terminate your Koru Club membership (paragraph 17)
- We limit our liability to you in respect of your Koru Club membership (paragraph 18)
2.Application for Koru Club membership
2.1 Applicants for Koru Club membership must apply online or present a fully completed Koru Club membership application form to Air New Zealand and pay the Membership Fee and Joining Fee. We reserve the right to accept or decline any application for Koru Club membership. If your application is declined, your Membership Fee and Joining Fee may be considered for a refund, at the discretion of Air New Zealand. If we accept your application, we may issue you with a digital or physical Koru Club Card on which your name, Koru Club membership number and expiry date will be visible.
2.2 A Koru Club Member may only hold one type of Koru Club membership at any one time. Membership of the Koru Club Programme is personal to the Koru Club Member and is not transferable to any other person.
3.No Refund
3.1 The Membership Fee and Joining Fee are both non-refundable. The Koru Extra Guest (formerly known as Guest Card) price and any other Add-on Fee or Koru Club Programme Product pricing (including any physical item cost) are also non-refundable. For example, if a Koru Club Member becomes a Koru Black, Koru Platinum or Koru Gold Member during the term of their Koru Club membership, and decides to terminate their current Koru Club membership, the Koru Club Member's Membership Fee and Joining Fee will not be refunded.
4.Koru Club membership types
4.1 We offer the following types of Koru Club membership to new applicants:
Individual Membership, which is open to individuals 18 years and over.
Senior Membership, which is available to any individual person 65 years or over, upon proof of age.
Corporate Membership, which is open to current employees linked to a Koru Club Corporate account of a Koru Club Corporate entity.
4.2 Existing 'Life Members' are able to continue their membership as 'Life Members' however this membership type is no longer available for new members. Existing 'Life Members' have the same Koru Club Benefits as Individual Membership and are subject to these Terms and Conditions.
4.3 We no longer offer 'Partner Membership' for new members. Existing 'Partner Members' are able to renew their 'Partner Membership' provided that the primary Koru Club membership (that is linked to the 'Partner's Membership') has not expired and the 'Partner Membership' has not lapsed. Existing 'Partner Members' have reduced Koru Club Benefits as compared to Individual Membership as 'Partner Members' do not have any Guest entitlements and cannot purchase Guest cards or Koru Extra Guest (formerly known as Guest Card).
5. Membership Fees
5.1 Membership Fees are based on Koru Club membership type and duration. Applicants for new Koru Club membership must pay a Joining Fee in addition to their Membership Fee. The current Membership, Joining and Add-on Fees are shown on the Koru Club page. All prices are in New Zealand Dollars and are GST inclusive. The Joining Fee is applicable for both new memberships and existing members who are renewing their membership after one month of expiry of an existing membership.
5.2 Membership, Joining and Add-on Fees can be paid in full with Airpoints ™, credit or debit card or with an Air New Zealand Travelcard. Credit card payments must be processed online or by calling the Koru Club contact centre.
5.3 Cardholders of Eligible Airpoints earning credit cards may be eligible for a Membership Fee discount and/or Joining Fee waiver, as specified in the issuing credit card provider's terms and conditions for the product. Air New Zealand may request information about you and confirmation that you are a current cardholder from your bank or cardholder provider. A secondary, joint or additional cardholder may not be eligible for this Membership Fee discount and/or Joining Fee. Any Membership Fee discount and/or Joining Fee waivers are subject to change in accordance with Clause 5.4 and the issuing credit card provider's terms and conditions for the product.
5.4 The Membership Fee, Joining Fee, Add-on Fees and any other Koru Club Programme Product pricing may be introduced, updated or changed from time to time. Koru Club membership types and length of membership term may also be updated and changed from time to time. We will notify you of these changes by updating the Koru Club Programme page on our website. A Koru Club membership term is charged and starts from the purchase date and ends on the last day of a month purchased in. For example, if a one year membership was purchased on 7 May, the membership would commence on 7 May and expire on 31 May the following year. A Guest card/Extra Guest term is charged and starts from the purchase date and ends on the last day of a month dependent on the term purchased. For example, if a three-month Guest card was purchased on 7 May, the membership would commence on 7 May and expire on 31 August the same year.
6. Koru Club membership renewal
6.1 Existing Koru Club Members may apply to renew their Koru Club membership by paying the Membership Fee that is current at the time of the renewal.
6.1.1 Koru Club members may renew their membership with the joining fee waived from two months before expiry until 30 days after.
6.2 If a Koru Club Member renews their Koru Club membership no later than one month after the expiry of their Koru Club membership, the Koru Club Member will not be required to pay a new Joining Fee and their membership will be reinstated from the date that the previous membership expired.
6.3 If a Koru Club Member renews their membership more than one month after the expiry of their membership expiry date or cancellation date, the Koru Club Member will be required to pay a new Joining Fee in addition to the Membership Fee.
6.4 We reserve the right to decide not to renew Koru Club membership. Koru Club Members also have a right not to renew their Koru Club membership.
7. Koru Club Corporate account
7.1 Eligibility for a Corporate account
- Unless ineligible under clause 7.1(b) below, any entity (including a partnership or sole trader) based in New Zealand that employs one or more person(s) and which holds a valid NZBN number with a NZBN status as 'registered', is eligible to apply for a Koru Club Corporate account.
- The following entitles are ineligible to hold a Koru Club Corporate account:
- Entities that are based outside of New Zealand;
- Entitles which are travel agencies, wholesalers, consolidators, or other sellers of travel;
- Entitles that are not in trade; and
- Any other entities as we reasonably determine from time to time..
- Air New Zealand may conduct its own investigations to verify the information given on an application is true and correct, including, but not limited to, reference to www.nzbn.govt.nz.
- A Koru Club Corporate account is not transferable to any other person or entity and any benefits related to the account may only be transferred as expressly permitted under these terms. Air New Zealand reserves the right to accept or decline any application for a Koru Club Corporate account. An entity may only hold one Koru Club Corporate account at any one time.
- Air New Zealand reserves the right to suspend, terminate or cancel a Koru Club Corporate account and remove its eligibility for Koru Club Benefits and pricing at any time.
7.2 Koru Club Corporate account Roles and Responsibilities
- Each Koru Club Corporate entity must nominate a 'Primary Account Holder' to represent the entity for the purposes of registering the account and facilitating the Koru Club Corporate account. The person registering a Koru Club Corporate entity agrees to become the 'Primary Account Holder'.
- The 'Primary Account Holder' must have the requisite authority within the business (e.g., director or senior executive with delegated authority) to be a nominated person of the Koru Club Corporate entity, to register the Koru Club Corporate entity to have a Koru Club Corporate account, represent the entity for the purposes of facilitating the Koru Club Corporate account, and act in the role of 'Primary Account Holder' for a Koru Club Corporate account.
- The 'Primary Account Holder' may assign administration rights to other Linked Members who themselves have the requisite authority within the business to be a nominated person of the Koru Club Corporate entity, represent the entity for the purposes of facilitating the Koru Club Corporate account, and act in the role of 'Administrator' for the Koru Club Corporate account. The Primary Account Holder and any members with administration rights ("together the Authorised Person(s)") must be Koru Members and will be required to provide their Koru membership number upon being linked to the Koru Club Corporate account. Authorised Persons must be at least 18 years of age and may not be a Linked Member of any other Koru Club Corporate entity.
7.2.1 Primary Account Holders and Administrators:
7.2.1.1 Primary Account Holders and Administrators must:
- administer the Koru Club Corporate account with diligence and for current employees only;
- ensure all employees added as Linked Members are aware of the obligations applicable to them as Linked Members, set out under "Linked Member Conditions" below;
- notify Air New Zealand promptly if the entity's address or other contact details change;
- keep its Koru Club Corporate account usernames and password details secure;
- monitor Linked Members activity and ensure that Koru Club memberships are only purchased for current employees of the entity;
- proactively notify Air New Zealand of any fraud, abuse or other non-authorised activity relating to its Koru Club Corporate account;
- not allow any other person, entity, contractor, or member of the entity to use its Koru Club Corporate account to benefit from Koru Club Benefits, nor add anyone (or allow a Koru Club membership to be purchased for anyone) who is not a current employee or director of the Koru Club Corporate entity as to do so would be engaging in fraud. Air New Zealand is entitled to require supporting evidence to prove that an employee is currently employed to verify eligibility for the corporate Membership Fees and corporate Koru Club Benefits (e.g., including but not limited to providing a valid company email address or providing proof of a registered person on the Companies Office website as a director of the entity).
- not sell, assign, or transfer Koru Club Programme memberships or related products to any other person in exchange for anything (including cash).
- be authorised by the Linked Member to sign them up for a Corporate Membership and have made the individual aware of the terms applying to a Koru Club Corporate Membership.
- agree that Air New Zealand may share their name to those who have identified themselves as being employees of the Koru Club Corporate entity.
7.2.1.2 If Air New Zealand believes a Linked Member is no longer employed or needs to investigate fraud, the Koru Club Corporate entity agrees to co-operate with such investigation and supply Air New Zealand with any documentation reasonably required by Air New Zealand, for example to show proof of Koru Club Corporate rate eligibility.
7.2.1.3 If the Primary Account Holder is no longer employed by the Koru Club Corporate entity or is deceased, the Koru Club Corporate entity must nominate, in the manner indicated on the Air New Zealand website, a new Primary Account Holder who is authorised to represent the Koru Club Corporate entity.
7.2.1.4 If Air New Zealand receives notice that the Primary Account Holder is deceased or is no longer employed by the Koru Club Corporate entity and the Koru Club Corporate entity has not nominated a new Primary Account Holder within one (1) month of Air New Zealand receiving such notice, then the Koru Club Corporate account will be closed without notification and any Koru Club Corporate account benefits and corporate rates will be forfeited.
7.2.2 Linked Members
- Linked Members must be Koru members; current employees of the Koru Club Corporate entity; a resident in New Zealand; and aged 18 years or over.
- Linked Members must accept the invitation within seven days to be linked to a Koru Club Corporate entity and on accepting the invitation agrees to these Terms and Conditions. The Primary Account Holder, any Administrators and employees are counted as Linked Members. The Primary Account Holder will be informed upon being linked to a Koru Club Corporate entity (without requiring an invitation to be accepted).
- The process for registering Linked Members is set out on our website.
- Linked Members may be added or removed at any time. The Primary Account Holder and Administrators can remove Linked Members from the Koru Club Corporate account. Air New Zealand will also remove a Linked Member at the request of that Linked Member, Primary Account Holder or Administrator.
- When a Linked Member is no longer employed by the Koru Club Corporate entity or is deceased, it is the responsibility of the Primary Account Holder and/or Administrator(s) to remove that Linked Member from the Koru Club Corporate account member list.
- Linked Members are not entitled to the Koru Club Corporate account benefits and pricing when they are no longer employed by the Koru Club Corporate entity. Air New Zealand reserves the right to terminate, cancel or suspend eligibility for any Koru Club membership if a purchase is made by the Linked Member or Koru Club Corporate entity that they are not eligible for.
- Linked Members authorise the Primary Account Holder and Administrator(s) for their Koru Club Corporate entity to act on their behalf to purchase a Koru Club membership or related product(s).
- By accepting an invitation to be a Linked Member, the Linked Member accepts the following conditions:
- Air New Zealand may share personal information with the applicable Koru Club Corporate entity as necessary to administer the Linked Member's membership. This includes, but is not limited to, sharing information with the Koru Club Corporate entity, Primary Account Holder, and Administrator.
- Any Authorised Person(s) will be able to see details about any Linked Member, including name, Koru number, address, Tier status and Koru Club status (to help them understand if a Koru Club membership needs to be purchased). We reserve the right to update and change the shared information from time to time and we will notify members of these changes by updating these Terms and Conditions on our website. Air New Zealand may also notify the Koru Club Corporate entity if a Linked Member's Koru Club membership is suspended, terminated or cancelled for any reason. If a Linked Member would like to opt-out and/or withdraw consent for their information being shared, they need contact an Authorised Person(s) that manages the Koru Club Corporate account or contact the Koru Club contact centre to be removed from the Koru Club Corporate account and will no longer be entitled to the Koru Club Corporate account benefits and pricing.
- A Linked Member may only be linked to one Koru Club Corporate entity at any time.
- As a Linked Member associated to a Koru Club Corporate entity, a copy of any Koru Club email communications may be shared with any Authorised Person linked to the Koru Club Corporate account.
7.3 Purchasing a Koru Corporate membership - A Linked Member who becomes a Koru Club Member must comply with the relevant terms and conditions applicable to the Koru Club Programme.
- Any Linked Member can purchase their own Koru Club Corporate Membership and/or have an Authorised Person do this on their behalf. In cases where the Primary Account Holder or Administrator purchases a Koru Club membership on behalf of a Linked Member, they confirm that they are authorised by the Linked Member to purchase the Koru Club membership and have made the Linked Member aware of these Terms and Conditions.
- For the avoidance of doubt, if a Linked Member ceases to be employed by the Koru Corporate entity while their membership is still valid, the membership is not transferrable to any other person.
- A Koru Corporate entity may opt to have a common expiry date to help with managing all Koru Club memberships. This will align all Linked Member Koru Club membership expiry dates so that they expire at the same time. When aligning a Koru Club membership purchase to a common expiry, the minimum term of a Koru Club membership is 4 months. If purchasing a membership within 3 months of the common expiry, a Koru Club membership will be set up as 1 year + X additional months membership to align to the common expiry. If purchasing a membership 4 or more months prior to the common expiry, Air New Zealand will create a membership term under 12 months to align to the common expiry. A Koru Club membership of 3 months or less cannot be purchased.
- If the Membership Fee needs to be pro-rated, Air New Zealand reserves the right to calculate this how they wish and can change the calculation rules at any time. If purchasing between the 1st to 20th of a month, the membership rate calculation will include the current month and be rounded to the nearest dollar. If purchasing between the 21st to 31st of a month, the membership rate calculation will exclude the current month and be rounded to the nearest dollar.
7.4 Koru Corporate account inactivity
- If a company is inactive for a period of one year, then the Koru Corporate account may be closed without notification and any subsequent Koru Club Benefits and corporate Membership Fees will be forfeited.
8. Email Communications
8.1 By providing us with an email address, you consent to us sending you commercial email communications including Koru Club and Koru communications, special offers, and partner communications.
8.2 You may unsubscribe to our marketing emails at any time by clicking on the 'unsubscribe link' in our emails. Also, if you are a registered user of our website, you can go to the 'My Profile' page after signing into our website to update your email communication preferences. By unsubscribing, you acknowledge that this may impact Air New Zealand's ability to notify you of your Koru Club membership expiry date.
9. Koru Club Card
9.1 Koru Club Members may be asked to present their digital or physical Koru Club Card, upon request, to staff administering Air New Zealand Lounges, Partner Lounges and other Koru Club Benefit facilities in order to access and enjoy the Koru Club Benefits. If a Koru Club Member fails to present their Koru Club Card they may be refused access to Koru Club Benefits, including but not limited to Air New Zealand Lounge and Partner Lounge facilities.
9.2 Each Koru Club Card is only valid for use by the person named as the Koru Club Member on the Koru Club Card. The Koru Club Card must not be used by any other person.
9.3 Koru Club Members (and former Koru Club Members) must not use or present their Koru Club Card at any Air New Zealand Lounge or Partner Lounge or other Koru Club Benefit facility after the date of expiry, termination or revocation of their Koru Club membership.
9.4 Each Koru Club Card remains the property of Air New Zealand and Koru Club Members must return their Koru Club Card to Air New Zealand upon our request and/or on termination of their Koru Club membership. Koru Club Members must notify Air New Zealand as soon as possible if their Koru Club Card is lost or stolen. We may charge a fee for the replacement of Koru Club Cards.
10. Koru Club Benefits
10.1 Koru Club Members are able to access and enjoy a range of Koru Club Benefits as part of their Koru Club membership. We may vary, change and update the Koru Club Benefits available to Koru Club Members from time to time. Visit our website for a list of up to date Koru Club Benefits.
10.2 You acknowledge that your application for Koru Club membership is on the basis that Koru Club Benefits will change from time to time.
10.3 Current Koru Club Benefits include:
- Selected access to Air New Zealand Lounges and Partner Lounges in accordance with the requirements of paragraphs 11 and 14 of these Terms and Conditions;
- Selected Guest access to Air New Zealand Koru Lounges and certain Partner Lounges in accordance with the requirements of paragraph 12 and 14 of these Terms and Conditions;
- Additional baggage allowance on all Air New Zealand operated flights (with an Air New Zealand ticket and flight number) provided that the Koru Club Member's fare includes a checked bag;
- Priority check-in when travelling on any Air New Zealand operated flights;
- Some Koru Club benefits apply on our alliance airline partner flights, please refer to our website.
- Priority in the Air New Zealand reservations waiting list when ringing the Air New Zealand contact centre; and
- Complimentary frequent flyer seating on select Air New Zealand operated flights, subject to space availability.
11. Minimum access requirements for lounges
11.1 Visit the lounge directory on our website for an up-to-date list of Air New Zealand Lounges and Partner Lounges.
11.2 Koru Club Members may only access an Air New Zealand Lounge or Partner Lounge in accordance with the lounge access terms of use and if each of the following criteria are met:
- The Koru Club Member's access to an Air New Zealand Lounge or Partner Lounge is directly prior to, for a stay of up to 4 hours and on the same day as the Koru Club Member's departure on a flight with an Air New Zealand ticket (starting with '086') and a flight number starting with 'NZ' and the Air New Zealand Lounge and Partner Lounge is located in the same airport terminal as the Koru Club Member's flight;
- The Koru Club Member must be departing on an Air New Zealand operated aircraft if they wish to access a Domestic or Regional Koru Lounge ;
- The Koru Club Member must be departing on one of the following flights (if they wish to access an Air New Zealand International Lounge):
- an Air New Zealand operated aircraft (with an Air New Zealand ticket and flight number); or
- an alliance airline flight, on selected routes as specified in the Koru Club Benefits, found on our website, that is eligible for lounge access
- The Koru Club Member must be able to present, upon request, their Koru Club Card and their boarding pass for an eligible flight to the staff administering the Air New Zealand Lounge or Partner Lounge;
- The Koru Club Member must adhere to the lounge access terms of use
11.3 Koru Club Members and their Guest/s must leave an Air New Zealand Lounge or Partner Lounge if asked to do so by any staff member administering the Air New Zealand Lounge or Partner Lounge. Staff members may ask a Koru Club Member or Guest to leave an Air New Zealand Lounge or Partner Lounge if they reasonably consider that the behaviour of either the Koru Club Member or their Guest is not compliant with lounge staff requests and/or is in breach of the lounge access terms of use.
12.Guest access to Air New Zealand Lounges
12.1 Koru Club Members are entitled to have one Guest accompany them into an Air New Zealand Lounge (excluding Koru Club Express) provided the Koru Club Member satisfies the requirements of clause 11 and if the Guest satisfies the requirements of clause 12. An additional Guest may be accommodated in Air New Zealand Lounges (excluding Koru Club Express) upon presentation of a valid pre-purchased Koru Club Guest card/Extra Guest entitlement (valid for one Guest only) or upon payment of a cover fee on the day from the relevant lounge. Koru Club Members must not under any circumstances transfer or sell Guest access privileges to any third party for cash or any other consideration. If you breach this clause we reserve the right to revoke your Koru Club membership.
12.2 Koru Club Members are not permitted to bring children or Guests into Koru Club Express.
12.3 Subject to space availability, up to a maximum of three children aged between 3 and 17 years (inclusive) travelling with the Koru Club Member may accompany the Koru Club Member into an Air New Zealand Lounge without the need for a Guest card or Extra Guest entitlement. Children must be supervised by an accompanying adult at all times.
12.4 A Guest may only access an Koru Lounge in accordance with the lounge access terms of use and if each of the following criteria are met:
- Guest access to a lounge is subject to space availability;
- The Guest is accompanied by a Koru Club Member;
- The Guest's access to the lounge is on the same day and directly prior to the Guest's departure on flight with an Air New Zealand ticket and flight number and
- the Guest's flight is operated by an Air New Zealand aircraft (with an Air New Zealand ticket and flight number) or the Guest's flight is on an alliance airline flight, on selected routes as specified in the Koru Club Benefits, found on our website, that is eligible for lounge access;
- the Guest's flight will be departing from the same airport terminal as the lounge;
- the Guest is able to present, upon request, their boarding pass with an Air New Zealand flight number or eligible alliance partner flight number to the staff administering the lounge;
- the Guest must comply with all reasonable lounge staff requests
12.5 Guest access to Partner Lounges is addressed in paragraph 14.3 below.
13.Koru Club Extra Guest (formerly Koru Club Guest Card)
13.1 All Koru Club Members except 'Partner Members' are entitled to purchase one Koru Club Guest card/Extra Guest in each year of their Koru Club membership to supplement their entitlement for Guest access to Air New Zealand Lounges. Use of a Koru Club Guest card/Extra Guest is subject to the requirements of paragraph 12.2 above.
13.2 The current purchase price for a Koru Club Guest card/Extra Guest is detailed on our website and varies depending on the period of validity purchased. The Koru Club Guest card/Extra Guest purchase price may change from time to time. We will notify you of changes to the Koru Club Guest card/Extra Guest purchase price by updating the Koru Club Guest card/Extra Guest purchase prices detailed on our website. There is a maximum of one Koru Club Guest card/Extra Guest per member. Prices are quoted in New Zealand Dollars.
13.3 A Koru Club Guest card/Extra Guest may only be used during its period of validity and before the Koru Club Guest card/Extra Guest expiry date, and only during the validity of the accompanying Koru Club Member's Koru Club membership. Koru Club Guest card/Extra Guest are not valid for use if the accompanying Koru Club Member's Koru Club membership has expired or has been terminated in any way.
13.4 Koru Club Members must not under any circumstances transfer or sell a Koru Club Guest card/Extra Guest entitlement to any third party for cash or any other consideration. If you breach this clause we reserve the right to revoke your Koru Club membership.
14.Partner Lounges
14.1 Visit our website for an up to date list of Partner Lounges located outside of New Zealand.
14.2 Koru Club Member entry to a Partner Lounge is subject to the entry and use requirements of the Partner Lounge operator.
14.3 Guest entitlements vary at different Partner Lounges. Some Partner Lounges allow one Guest to be admitted to the Partner Lounge when accompanied by a Koru Club Member and subject to space availability. Visit our website for an up to date list of Guest entitlements and limits at Partner Lounges. Children are not permitted to enter Partner Lounges in addition to the Guest allowance of the particular Partner Lounge.
15.Koru membership
15.1 To purchase a Koru Club membership, you must have an active Koru membership, which is subject to the Koru terms and conditions.
16.Variation
16.1 From time to time, we may vary the types of Koru Club membership available, the Membership Fees, the Joining Fees, the Koru Club Guest card/Extra Guest Fees, 'Bag Tag' fees, other Add-on Fees or Koru Club Programme Products and the Koru Club Benefits. For example, we may discontinue the availability of certain Air New Zealand Lounges. We may also change our arrangements with Partner Lounge providers. This may result in some Partner Lounge facilities being discontinued and/or new Partner Lounge facilities becoming available. We may also vary the requirements relating to Guest access to Air New Zealand Lounges and Partner Lounges. From time to time, we may publish new fare types which may not permit access to Air New Zealand Lounges or Partner Lounges. Whilst we will endeavour to provide valuable Koru Club Benefits to Koru Club Members, we will need to review, update and change the types of Koru Club Benefits available from time to time. Changes to Koru Club Benefits may reflect, for example, changes in the availability of airport space; changes in our partnership arrangements with other airline carriers; changes in our route network; and changes in the demand for lounge access at different destinations.
16.2 We may vary these Terms and Conditions from time to time. We will notify you of these changes by updating the Koru Club terms and conditions on our website.
17.Termination and suspension
17.1 Koru Club Members may terminate their Koru Club membership at any time by providing notice in writing to Air New Zealand and returning their Koru Club Card to Air New Zealand. Koru Club Members who terminate their Koru Club membership are not entitled to a refund of their Membership Fee or Joining Fee.
17.2 Air New Zealand may terminate or suspend a Koru Club Member's Koru Club membership or cancel or suspend a Koru Club Member's access to some or all Koru Club Benefits if we reasonably believe that the Koru Club Member has:
- abused, misused or obtained by any misrepresentation any Koru Club Benefits or other facilities or arrangements provided by or in connection with the Koru Club Programme;
- behaved in a manner which Air New Zealand reasonably considers to be unacceptable while using any Koru Club Benefits or other facilities, services, or arrangements provided by or in connection with the Koru Club Programme;
- acted in any way that is detrimental to the interests of Air New Zealand or the Koru Club Programme;
- provided any incorrect or misleading information to Air New Zealand in connection with their application for or membership in the Koru Club Programme; or
- breached the lounge access terms of use
17.3 Koru Club membership will automatically terminate on the death or bankruptcy of a Koru Club Member.
17.4 If we decide to discontinue the Koru Club Programme we may terminate Koru Club memberships by giving Koru Club Members written notice.
17.5 If we cease to operate as an airline, we may terminate Koru Club membership at any time without notice.
18.Limitation of liability
18.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, Air New Zealand shall not be liable (in negligence, tort, breach of contract or otherwise) for any direct or indirect loss, or special or consequential loss, arising out of or in connection with:
- Our variation of Koru Club Benefits from time to time;
- Our variation to these Terms and Conditions from time to time;
- The suspension or termination of a Koru Club Member's Koru Club membership;
- A Koru Club Member's use of or ability (or inability) to access any Koru Club Benefits, including the inability to access any Koru Lounge(s) or Partner Lounge(s) due to construction or other closure;
- Koru Club Member and Guest access to (or inability to access) and use any Air New Zealand Lounges or Partner Lounge
18.2 Many of the Koru Club Benefits available to Koru Club Members are provided by third party entities with which Air New Zealand has made arrangements but over which Air New Zealand has no control, for example Koru Club Member access to Partner Lounges. Air New Zealand does not endorse third party entities providing Koru Club Benefits and has no liability in respect of your dealings with third parties. You maintain full responsibility for your dealings with third parties and your use of any Koru Club Benefit that is provided by a third party.
18.3 To the fullest extent permitted by law, Air New Zealand makes no warranties (express or implied), and makes no representations, with respect to the availability and or suitability of Guest benefits for your use.

20.Notice and contact details
20.1 Except as expressly stated otherwise in these Terms and Conditions, any notice given by us to a Koru Club Member pursuant to these Terms and Conditions will be deemed to have been given and received by the Koru Club Member if we email the notice to the Koru Club Member at the last email address provided by the Koru Club Member to Air New Zealand.
20.2 You must promptly notify Air New Zealand either online through your signed in Air New Zealand account, in person at an Air New Zealand Lounge, or in writing or by phone of any change of address or contact details. Any name change by a Member must be notified to Air New Zealand in writing together with proof of the name change.
21.Tax
21.1 We have no responsibility for any tax liabilities or other levies or duties that may be imposed on any Koru Club Member arising from their Koru Club Membership. Air New Zealand gives no warranty or assurance in relation to such tax liabilities or other levies or duties or the tax-deductibility of any fees associated with Koru Club membership. Koru Club Members should seek their own advice on such matters. Koru Club Members will not be provided with a tax invoice if they pay for their Koru Club membership using Airpoints
22.Laws of New Zealand apply
22.1 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand in connection with any legal action that may arise in relation to your Koru Club membership and/or your use of Koru Club Benefits.
23.Translations
23.1 Where a translation of these Terms and Conditions is made available in a language other than English, in the event of a conflict between the English version of these Terms and Conditions and any translation, the English version shall prevail.
24.Miscellaneous
24.1 Additional information about the Koru Club Programme may be found on the Air New Zealand website. To the extent of any inconsistency, these Terms and Conditions, as amended from time to time, shall prevail.
24.2 The Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ) shall not apply to these Terms and Conditions in respect of Koru Club Memberships acquired and or used for the purpose of business.
25.Definitions
25.1 In these Terms and Conditions:
"Add-on Fee" means the fee payable to Air New Zealand by a current Koru Club Member as payment for the Koru Club Programme Product add-on, in the monetary amount specified on our website.
"Air New Zealand", "we" or "us" means Air New Zealand Limited.
"Air New Zealand Koru Lounge" means Air New Zealand operated and branded lounges and includes Air New Zealand Domestic Lounges, Air New Zealand Regional Lounges, and Air New Zealand International Lounges and also includes Koru Club Express facilities operated by or on behalf of Air New Zealand (not Partner Lounges), the locations and characteristics of which will vary from time to time in accordance with the lounge directory which is published on our website and updated from time to time.
"Koru" means the Koru customer loyalty programme operated by Air New Zealand.
"Authorised Person(s)" has the meaning given in Clause 7.2(c).
"Eligible Airpoints earning credit cards" means current primary cardholders (and in some cases, secondary, joint and additional cardholders), who have an open ANZ Airpoints Visa Platinum, Westpac Airpoints Platinum Mastercard, American Express Airpoints Platinum Card, Westpac Airpoints World Mastercard, Westpac Airpoints Business Mastercard and/or ANZ Visa Business Airpoints Card linked to their Airpoints membership.
"Guest" means a person who accompanies a Koru Club Member into a lounge or Partner lounge upon satisfaction of all the entry requirements specified in these Terms and Conditions.
"Joining Fee" means the joining fee payable to Air New Zealand by a new applicant for Koru Club membership and by persons who have expired Koru Club membership, in the monetary amount specified on our website.
"Koru Club Benefits" means the benefits, facilities, arrangements and services that are made available to Koru Club Members or holders of a Koru Club Corporate account (as applicable) from time to time by or on behalf of Air New Zealand, the locations and characteristics of which will vary from time to time in accordance with the list of Koru Club Benefits and Koru Club Corporate account information which is published on our website and updated from time to time.
"Koru Club Card" means the physical or digital card issued to Koru Club Members by Air New Zealand to evidence the Koru Club Member's membership to the Koru Club Programme.
"Koru Club Corporate account" means the account registered and managed by a Koru Club Corporate entity for the purpose of managing linked members and Koru Club memberships.
"Koru Club Corporate entity" means an entity/organisation (including a partnership or sole trader) based in New Zealand that employs one or more person(s) and which holds a valid NZBN number with a NZBN status as 'registered' and meets the eligibility criteria on our website to apply for a Koru Club Corporate account.
"Koru Club Express" means the Koru Club Express facilities operated by or on behalf of Air New Zealand in New Zealand, the locations and characteristics of which will vary from time to time in accordance with the lounge directory which is published on our website and updated from time to time.
"Koru Club Extra Guest" means a product purchased by a Koru Club Member (excluding a Partner Member) from Air New Zealand upon payment of a Koru Club Extra Guest purchase fee, to enable admission of an additional Guest into Air New Zealand Lounges upon satisfaction of all the entry requirements specified in these Terms and Conditions.
"Koru Club Member" means a person who has applied for and has been accepted as a Koru Club Member of the Koru Club Programme; who has paid the applicable Membership Fee; who has been issued with a Koru Club Card; whose Koru Club membership is current; and whose membership has not been suspended, terminated or revoked. Includes 'Lifetime Members' and 'Partner Members'.
"Koru Club Programme Fees" means any Membership Fee, Joining Fee, Add-on Fee and any other fee payable to Air New Zealand by a Koru Club Member as payment for the Koru Club Programme Product, in the monetary amount specified on our website.
"Koru Club Programme Product" means any Koru Club Programme product sold by Air New Zealand, including, but not limited to, memberships, bag tags, extra guest entitlements, replacement items or other Koru Club add-ons/items.
"Koru Club Programme" means the domestic and international air traveller's programme operated by Air New Zealand to provide Member Benefits to Koru Club Members.
"Linked Member(s)" means the Koru members linked to a Koru Club Corporate account as either the "Primary Account Holder", "Administrator" or an employee/director.
"Membership Fee" means the membership fee payable to Air New Zealand by applicants for Koru Club membership as payment for the Koru Club membership, in the monetary amount specified on our website.
"Partner Lounge" means lounges that are operated by or on behalf of third party airline carriers or airline alliances (not Air New Zealand Lounges) in locations where Air New Zealand does not operate a lounge, the locations and characteristics of which will vary from time to time in accordance with the lounge directory which is published on our website and updated from time to time.
"You" means the person named as the applicant on a Koru Club membership application form; the person applying to purchase a Koru Club membership; and or the person whose name appears on a Koru Club Card, as applicable.
